August 2019 – Crayons to Computers

Founded in 1997, Crayons to Computers has worked to level the playing field in the classroom by providing students in need the tools to succeed in school. They have successfully distributed more than $163 million worth of free school supplies.

Through their Teacher Free Store and Mobile Outreach Program they offer a variety of materials that support learning, including basic supplies like books, crayons, paper, scissors, and pencils, as well as enrichment and incentive items that teachers can use to motivate and inspire student engagement.

For an underprivileged child, every school supply holds the potential for something new. Something bigger. Something better. That’s why Crayons to Computers is dedicated to providing kids with the supplies they need to succeed in school and life. It’s simple, yet so crucial.

One pencil can draw the path to literacy. One box of crayons can color the imagination with new possibilities. These ordinary supplies can have an extraordinary impact and change the course of a child’s life.

November 2017 – The Cure Starts Now

The Cure Starts Now represents something truly different.  It’s not about fighting just one cancer, but the elimination of cancer as a whole.  The Cure Starts Now believes as the experts do; that in order to truly cure cancer you have to focus on those cancers that are immune to conventional treatments, those cancers for which there are no treatments, those cancers that affect children and those cancers that are the biggest bullies.  The Cure Starts Now calls this the “homerun cure” which focuses on cancer research to find a cure.  The Cure Starts Now is not just another cancer charity, but the only cancer charity dedicated to the “homerun cure” – curing cancer, one child at a time.

Pediatric brain cancer may be the most important battle in the war against cancer.  Experts worldwide believe that the strategies we discover fighting pediatric brain cancers like DIPG will change the way we fight all cancers.  Through a worldwide collaborative effort The Cure Starts Now is not only bringing attention to DIPG and other brain cancers, but also identifying talents that deliver treatments at a pace unparalleled in the research community at a value that every donor can appreciate.
